Hi all,

I had a demand from a client that wants me to produce a kevlar panel with a specific thickness, so..

Desired thickness is 8mm using the 300gsqm which as a thicknes of 0.47mm

Using epoxy resin and vacuum bagging, how many layers of kevlar do I need to achieve the client desired thickness of 8mm?

Btw, how to calculate the needed amount of resin to this?

the exact dimension are: 2780mm x 710mm x 8mm (Yep, huge!!!!).

Can someone help me with this?

Just use the fabric thickness to calculate how many layers you will need.

You will normally use the same weight of resin as the weight of fabric for wet lay up and vac bagging, so 1 sqm of 300gsm fabric uses 300g of resin.  Allow a little extra for mixing waste and slight variation.
