Casting High Temperature Epoxy

Hello,

I am thinking about casting tube holder blocks, something like this one:

It would be nice if these blocks could be used to hold the steel tubes while they are brazed, so making them as resilient to high temperatures as possible would be objective. Another objective would be precise outer and inner dimensions, but I guess that could be rectified by post cast machining if material would lend itself to it.

So I was thinking of using High Temperature Epoxy with as much of aluminium filler it can take and maybe some Calcium Carbonate if that would help. And then post cure the whole thing. I guess high viscosity would not be a big problem for this particular casting since there are no delicate contours to replicate, even if it is in paste like form I could push it down into mold manually.

Is this good way to do it? Any other advice? Would aluminium filler and post curing help to raise allowable temperatures above 180C?

Although aluminium fillers will aid in the thermal stability and slow down the degradation process once the heat distortion temperature has been reached, they will not significantly increase the HDT.
