Hey guys,

I recently ordered some Biotex Flax and Jute fabrics from you for a little experiment that I am doing, but I just wanted to inquire about the fabrics stiffness. I have read that the fabrics are similar to fibreglass in terms of stiffness, is that so?

If I wanted to make a flat sheet approx. 500x300mm, to carry a small weight load (say 5kg, to be safe) without any flex, how many layers of the fabric would I need to use?

Adding carbon to the centre of a laminate won't do much for stiffness as it is the neutral layer at the centre.

Maybe 2 x jute at each skin and just fglass to make up the core thickness with better strength?

I have never tried the stuff though??
