Dear Easycomposites.co.uk,

I'm looking for Kevlar patches to strenghthen normal denim-jeans pants to make pants for motorcycling. I need to use this solution because I'm too thin and not enough tall for technical jeans reinforced with kevlar that can be found in stores!

I read that I need your special shears to cut kevlar, and that to sew the patch is recommended your sewing thread. Ok.

But I still have a couple of question:
1) Kevlar is strong... will I be able to sew it with a normal needle? And I can use a normal sewing machine?
2) What kind of Kevlar patches do you recommend for the use I need? I need a very protective tissue, but flexible, not too heavy and not to thick.

Thanks a lot for your help,

You can sew using a normal needle, it will however blunt fairly quickly. We recommend using our Kevlar Sewing Thread to do any sewing of kevlar.

Your fabric choice will be from
our protective textiles range.  Depending on how much protection you need, I would recommend the Kevlar Protective Loopbacked Fabric against the skin and if you need further protection, add layers to it of the Heavyweight Kevlar Protective Fleece Fabric for extra protection.
