Hello,

I'm just about to make some Uni-mould moulds straight off some brand new car panels. The panels have been factory painted but the finish is really soft! I'm guessing that I'll run into problems with the styrene attacking the paint.

I was thinking of prepping with meguiars wax then spraying a few coats of PVA. I don't mind a bit of flatting and polishing afterwards but don't want to end up with a wrinkly mess!

Alternatively, I could abrade the paint and spray them with pattern primer. But, I wonder if the styrene in the primer will cause the same issues as the Uni-mould gel coat?

Many thanks in advance!

Ben
