do a test piece i have done the same on my evo parts ! these are wet layed though

That's perfect! Well done Jay!

How many layers of vinyl did you use? If that's just the one then I'm surprised. I would have thought it would need to be thicker to be that visible. That's why I suggested the puffy lenticular stickers.

Nice work and thanks for sharing that.

I havent tried but I think the resin would eat that away...

You might need to switch to epoxy resin and do the vinyl letters like Jay did. I assume that's the exact look you were going for. That's what I had in mind at least.

Bit of a bodge job but I cut a piece of 1/32 balsa and stuck it into a mould with PVA release agent.  A bit of plasticine round the edge and some more release agent and I recessed my dash plates for this badge. (fingers crossed the link works)

Hello Carbon (Pizza eating) Tuner

I have been think of a possible solution for you. Perhaps you could get a lettered label cut. (the kind you peel off and stick on)

Now remove the letters that you would normally use and throw them away. Tape down the remaining tape into position where you want your letters.

Mask off the rest of your part and lightly sand blast with the finest sand or media through the holes left in the tape.(your text)

It should leave a light fogging of your name on the surface. Similar to etching glass. Another post suggested you then clear the etched imprint of the letters.

Hope this helps. Just a thought.
