Andy. I’m not an expert in this area as all my work has been on flatter stuff, so this is just a thought.

You don’t say if the face of the mould is going to be the face of the component, but you could use a black epoxy coat to stick the CF in place, or a clear. Put the CF fabric on when the coat cures to the tacky stage and then a coat of epoxy then vacuum, either as flat cover or preferably as envelope bag.

As I say, I’m no expert but if all else failes might be worth a try. Pushing the envelope ( pun intended) of your knowlage is the best way to learn.
