I have spent quite a bit of time walking on glaciers (Used to be my job, as a geologist and glaciologist)
And yes... Heavyweight "Cordura" is a strong fabric, and has ocassionally saved the inside of my legs from the crampon points, while wearing Cordura/Goretex Gaiters ..
It can not, however, be even compared to high quality kevlar fabrics, like the EC coated stuff or the "Scholler Keprotec" used in some mountaineering and motorbiking safety equipment or clothing.
Cordura is by no means as cut-resistant as kevlar-fabric --- not even close ....

Both fabric types are not water or windproof in themselves, they need some sort of lining or coating to become wind and /or waterproof ... Generally speaking, if something is waterproof, it will certainly also be very "wind-proof"
The EC coated Kevlar fabric is not "breathable", it is a heavy rubberized coating. A lot of the mountaineering Cordura or Kevlar fabrics have "breathable" membranes, like "Goretex" or similar membranes that will allow water vapour to escape, but not liquid water to get through from the outside.
Oh, and I completely forgot ... Kevlar /Aramide fabrics are fireproof too ... only the coatings or binders in it will burn.. Cordura melts quite easily .. This is a problem in motorcycle protective clothing, as a longish slide along the tarmac can (will ) melt the fibres ...
"Sapere Aude"... Dare to KNOW!
